Knight Owls get 10th in Canberra Cup
In what was being used as a pre-season warm up the Knight Owls have finished 10th in the Canberra Cup on the weekend.

Coach Michael was happy with the team's performance since it was their first hit-out for many months. The highlight was beating fellow league team the Tigers 2-0 in a match which saw both the Trolls (Trevor and Ripper) KO's early in the first half (Ripper's happened in the first block of the game and he threw the block).

The Knight Owls look forward to dominating the minors next season with a return to the majors the season after.

Knight Owls back in training
In preparation for the upcoming season, the Knight Owls have returned to the training paddock this week after their extended lay-off.

Team leader Danny said "It's great to be back on the training field and seeing all the guys again. We are just itching to get back out there and smash some Orcs and Elves again. It's just a shame that Oluff won't be here with us....."

The Knight Owls will probably be joining the minors with the hope of making it back into the majors the following season.

Owls hang on for a draw
Both teams started this game a little nervously, maybe it was the presence of the Mighty Zug and Zara that caused the nerves.

The Dargons failed a lot of actions in the first half allowing the knight owls to go into the half time break up 3-1 with Danny scoring all three for the knight owls. Knowing that they only needed one more TD in the second half to secure a win, the knight owls never got into gear. A combination of the crowd and the dragons meant that there were more Owls players in the dug-out than actually on the field and they just couldn't hang on and the dragons scored the tieing TD in the final turn of the game, the score 3-3. The Owls suffered another death but luckily the apothecary did his job this time and Frank (#2 blitzer) will only miss one game. The other injury from the game is to Joe (#11 thrower) who will also be missing the next game.

The knight owls will be looking forward to recruiting a new blitzer to the team and the return of Oluff for their next game against DDD.

Mike Retires
Mike the blitzer has called an end to his career with the Knight Owls. Mike has been talking about retirement for quite a few games now (ever since he lost some speed) but with the reduction in his overall strength and with fellow blitzer Pete dieing in the previous game, the pressure has been too much for Mike - and he has decided to leave.

The knight owls hope to replace Mike in the near future but with a team value that would be more suited for the minor leagues it puts another dent in their chances of beating the dragons in round 2.
